"We have 350 acres, so we don’t have any neighbours anywhere close. When we were kids my parents would say, “You’re not coming inside for the next two days. Go fend for yourselves!” My dad would lock the door to the house and we would go camp and fish. I was the youngest and the only girl, so I’ve always had to keep up."
"When I was out in Toronto, working in an office, it was super long hours and I was depressed and getting really bad anxiety. I had never had that in my life. When I made the decision to move back (to the farm), and then started working at the site, it was so good for me and I felt so much better. If my mind started racing, I’d just get out there and get working and I instantly felt better. Just doing something with your hands is so good for the mind."
