“Fort St. John is very different from Senegal. In Senegal, everybody is like family, so you see people and you talk to them or you play soccer with them. It’s very social. Here, it’s cold. You go out and it’s not very easy to find friends. So I only have two friends that I have made since coming here.
“Everybody at Site C is pretty nice and friendly. When you work there, you feel like you are family and it feels like I am at home. You don’t feel the day and you don’t feel the time. You are working, but you are also with your friends and making jokes. It’s more like it is back home for me.”
